Report: Christie outpacing Buono’s fundraising even in deep blue Hudson County

Hudson County may be deep blue territory when it comes to elections, but Republican Gov. Chris Christie is racking up big bucks from donors here, according to an NJ Spotlight report.
NJ Spotlight used campaign finance reports to show where donors across the state are giving to Christie and where they are giving to Christie’s Democratic challenger, state Sen. Barbara Buono.
“The result is a strikingly ‘red’ map for a ‘blue’ state,” according to NJ Spotlight.
That is especially true here in Hudson County, which hasn’t voted for a Republican gubernatorial candidate since former Gov. Tom Kean’s 1985 re-election rout.
